How WorkHalo uses text messages. Last updated: October 5, 2026

About this program

WorkHalo is a team scheduling app for small businesses with hourly staff, such as self storage facilities. When a manager adds an employee to the business's team schedule, WorkHalo can send that employee one text message. It says which business added them and where to get the WorkHalo app. That is the only text this program sends. The message carries no login link and no code, and we do not send marketing texts, promotional content, or third-party offers under this campaign.

How employees opt in

WorkHalo uses an employer-as-authorized-agent consent model. The employee's manager (the business using WorkHalo) collects the employee's verbal consent and confirms it in WorkHalo's manager interface before any text is sent. The flow is:

  1. The manager asks the employee, in person or by phone, whether they agree to receive one text from WorkHalo about joining the team schedule, and tells them the points in the disclosure below: message and data rates may apply, one message per team invitation, reply STOP to opt out, reply HELP for help.
  2. The manager opens WorkHalo's "Add Employee" form and enters the employee's mobile number. When the employee has no email address on file, WorkHalo offers the text invite, and the manager must actively tick a consent checkbox that is never pre-selected. The checkbox shows the exact disclosure below. An employee with an email address gets an email invitation instead and is never texted.
  3. Until the box is ticked, no text is sent. The manager can still add the employee to the schedule; they simply receive no text.
  4. When the box is ticked, WorkHalo records the time consent was given on the employee's record, which holds the mobile number and belongs to the business that added them, and records which manager confirmed the consent and the version of the consent wording in effect.

What the manager sees when adding an employee

This is the consent control exactly as it appears on the Add Employee form. It is shown here unticked and disabled; on the form it starts unticked and the manager has to tick it.

Exact disclosure shown to the manager at the time of consent

"I confirm this employee gave verbal consent to receive one text message from WorkHalo letting them know this business added them to its team schedule and where to get the WorkHalo app. The employee was told: message and data rates may apply; WorkHalo sends one message per team invitation; reply STOP to opt out; reply HELP for help; see the Privacy Policy and Terms."

Sample messages

Sample 1:

Sample 2:

WorkHalo: Oceanside Mini Storage added you to their team schedule. Msg & data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out, HELP for help. Get the app: https://workhalo.app/get

The business name is the only part that changes. The link goes to https://workhalo.app/get, which sends an iPhone to the App Store and an Android phone to Google Play.

Message frequency

One text per team invitation. WorkHalo sends the message once, when a manager adds an employee who has no email address on file and confirms their consent, and does not resend it. No other texts are sent to the recipient under this campaign.

Cost

Msg & data rates may apply. WorkHalo does not charge employees for texts; standard rates from the employee's mobile plan apply.

Opt-out

Reply STOP to any message from the WorkHalo number to opt out. Twilio, our messaging provider, honors the opt-out at the carrier level and blocks further messages from our number to that phone. Twilio also honors the standard opt-out keywords UNSUBSCRIBE, CANCEL, END and QUIT. To opt back in, reply START. The confirmation sent in reply to STOP:

You are unsubscribed from WorkHalo texts. No more messages will be sent. Reply START to resubscribe.

Help

Reply HELP to any message for support contact details. The automated reply:

WorkHalo team scheduling. Help: devin@workhalo.app or workhalo.app/sms-terms. Msg & data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out.

You may also email devin@workhalo.app directly for assistance.
